| The householder was perplexed as to where this dampness was coming from (suspected rising dampness) the cause was traced to the adjacent down pipe, subsequently repaired allowing the plaster to dry out. |

After repainting works to this light well the paint began to blister and discolour. After investigations it was noted that the exterior brickwork pointing was in poor condition allowing water ingress. |
